Process we follow from defining to completing a new website project

As an established website design and development company of India, with our 8+ years of working experience as a Company/Team - we have defined our working process in typical 11 steps for new website projects. Which are listed and described as follow:

1. Requirements Gathering This is very important step as at this stage we understand our client’s requirements. And to collect the information from client side, we are having a very well defined Questionnaire in which we ask clients to put all asked information. Once, we understand client’s requirements we share an initial proposal with an estimated cost and time-frame. In this, proposal document we mention all the elements and functionalities which will be included in their new website.
2. Proposal discussion and Order confirmation We give all understanding on proposal to client, which we have shared as per client’s requirements and our cost for the same with clearly mentioned payment terms. Once, client agreed on shared proposal copy - we both sign on it and consider the same as an agreement for their new website design and development. After agreement signature, we ask for deposit as per payment terms to get going on the project execution steps.
3. Content Gathering At this stage we gather all of the text and images that are available with client. Here, we strongly recommend client to share keywords for search engine optimization. And for all these sharing we create a shared folder with internet access to enable easy file sharing throughout the project execution.
4. Design phase We do design with the focus of the websites’ usability and we consider all user groups, i.e. regular computer/technology users or not that computer/technology savvy. Home page of any website gives first impression to the website visitors and it starts with needful research about client’s business segment, competitors, current trends, formatting, colours and fonts. In the home page design, we consider/include all the functionalities discussed and mentioned in the proposal copy. Home page will be the main template for the website and after designing we share that with clients for their review and feedbacks. We do needful revisions as per client feedbacks till client satisfied 100% with it. Once, home page approved we do design of one standard content page and other important pages depends on project requirements. Please note that once the designs are approved and after development of those if any design changes come then those changes will be considered at additional cost and cost for the same will be shared at actual.
5. Development Phase For the approved designed pages, we start development. From the start of the development we consider to develop each website as responsive and SEO friendly. During the development we do all functionalities as agreed and mentioned in proposal copy. Once, development of whole website is done we make a development url of the website and share with client for their review.
6. Browser and functional Testing Once, the development is finished we test websites across a range of browsers, new and old including Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Google Chrome and Safari. Plus mobile platforms, Apple iOS and Android.
7. Client pre-release review Once, our rounds of testing will be over – we ask client to navigate through the newly developed website on development url and share their experiences/feedback if any.
8. Security & Performance Now days, CMS like wordpress is adopted globally. Such CMS systems need some Security and Performance plugins to keep website healthy all the time. So with our experiences, we use to settle plugins for the same and test website in live environment.
9. Time to Go Live! Once, all reviewed and approved on development url – we ask client to pay final payment for the project and make their website live on their domain and hosting.
10. Training and Documentation If we have used CMS for the development of any website then we use to give one session of training/walk through of admin side to our clients. We use to record the session and share with client for their future reference.
11. Ongoing Support With all our website design and development projects we use to give 1 month complementary support so if client faces any issues we can sort those out within that month. We also have yearly plans to opt for ongoing maintenance and support for website projects.

In conclusion, we have very well defined working process for the website design and development projects and by using the same we are serving our clients since more than 8 years now.
